Backstory
Filament Business Advisors was contacted by the business manager of a regional architecture firm who wanted to enhance employee perquisites in order to aid in the retention of key personnel.

Methodology
Filament reached out on the firm’s behalf to companies that specialize in providing retirement benefits, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance and FSA accounts. Filament advisors obtained quotes on these services so that the business manager could easily compare apples to apples and make an educated decision for his employees.

Result
The end result is a much more comprehensive plan than most firms of its size offer, and at a price that makes sense for the business. An added benefit: they were able to incorporate a Safe Harbor component to their new 401(k) that allows the principals to put a lot more tax deferred money away than before, resulting in an option to potentially accelerate their planned retirement date.
